Great selection of German beers and food. A gem of a beer garden in the back too.
Fun place, excellent food and nice staff!
The restaurant is nice and broad, the meals was enchanting and the rates were very inexpensive. quick, efficient service and very friendly waiters. I recommend this place.
Good authentic German food and BIERs!
I eat here a lot since I work in the area. I must say their service is always fantastic and they keep the spot well organized consistently. Pricing is fair and they serve big portions.
We got the schnitzel dinner and the shabogyen bratwurst dinner. Both I would get again and have no complaints about. Incredibly delicious!!! Wish I lived closer so I could walk down the street and get a genuine German beer each time ! Definitely I'll be a repeating customer!!!
My favorite German dive bar. Cozy, wonderful, classic Chicago.
The place offers an awesome range of delicious food. I loved eating here. The employees are always very welcoming, prices are fair and the spot is always kept clean.
Cant speak to the food because we left before ordering. Bad service and food prices are high.
Great place to take the edge off everyone here is friendly. Very old school feel, warm and inviting!!
Great German Beer Bar with some well prepared German Meals
Great ethnic German food and October Fest beer in a friendly neighborhood setting.
Great, authentic German food and amazing beer selection. I've been here a couple of times and only have positive things to say. There's a wonderful beer garden out back, so get there while it's warm! I'm not sure if it's noted elsewhere, but the kitchen closes around 10:30pm, so keep that in mind if you're trying to get your Schnitzel on.
Great old school German beer bar
Fantastic local spot. I'm actually hesitant to review it in order to keep this place at a very reasonable crowd level. Food is amazing, great beer selection. Will be back likely in a couple of days.
I'm a fan of Resi's Bierstube! If you enjoy German beer, German cuisines, and a good atmosphere, go visit Resi's Bierstube! They also have a great beer garden for warmer weather days.
The friendliest place ever! The food was delicious and the service on point, beyond our expectations. As visitors from Toronto Canada we were awestruck at how welcoming and hospitable Chicagoans are to visitors. This pace is a gem and we’ll be visiting it again soon, without fail. Thanks to the bar tender for being the nicest ray of sunshine ever! Bill it was indeed a pleasure meeting you and infinite thanks for all the insights to your beautiful city.
Good German food and plenty of beer selection. Friendly staff.
Great small German place. The backyard is a hidden gem in North center.
Bar service was excellent.5 stars Three stars overall becauseTable service was lacking but not from effort from our waitress. But from a lack of staff. Food was very good as has always been.
Amazing My friend got invited to this place and then he invited me. We all ordered the potato pancakes for the table and trust me, the potato pancakes were outstanding. The food is great, the service is better. A really good place to settle down with friends. Overall amazing place to eat!
A bit of an older bar but well worth the visit. Has a nice selection of German food and beer.
The absolute best authentic German restaurant bar. A full German menu with the highest quality and fresh made food. They have the most wonderful authentic German beer selection of any place I've been. The service is fast, extremely courteous, and the bartenders are hot!
Great food and beer. Low key. Love this place.
Had a excellent experience in this place with my daughter. The food was served fast and the service is just fantastic. Prices are convenient.
German taps, German good, friendly and fun staff. This is a perfect village watering hole kind of place. It's not upscale, more of a greasy spoon or hole in the wall feel, but it's never seedy. More of an "old man bar" kind of vibe. Love it.
Foods always good you know no complaints, I wish I could say the same for my wicked wife
German food, German taps, friendly staff. Great hole in the wall. Very divey, in an old man blue collar way. I love it.
With a small but definite pick of Austrian and German beers, this locale offers wonderfully-sized portions. The outdoor patio is nice. Would like to try their food next.
Nice quiet beer garden, good selection of German beer styles.
Lisa was a great bartender and host. First time I was there. I love her and call "dibs". Sorry, men and women.
Classic olde-school Mom & Pop German bar!
Resi's is a great spot for German beer! The service is spotty. The food is really good. If you are all for beer...stay at the bar and belly up...best experience!
Das essen war gut! The food was really good. There were four of us and we each had something different and the were all delicious. The waitress was on top of things and was always there to fill our water or bring us another beer. The Bar itself is just that, it's an older bar, lots of memorabilia hanging but it was nice too.We enjoyed our meal, with 4 meals and steins of beer our total came to about $97.00. We will go back.
The atmosphere, the service and the food were all suberb.
Nice atmosphere. Great food. Refreshing beer.
Awesome beer selection, great food, and kind staff. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend the chili Sheboygan.
Very well kept and accessible restaurant. They serve generous meals and for reasonable prices. I liked the food very much and the staff were super attentive and chatty. Recommended.
If you are looking for a German beer on a nice shady patio this is the place. The server was attentive. The beer selection is pretty much just German. Don't go here if you're looking for a Revolution brew. Though we didn't have food, what we saw pass our table on the way to other customers looked delish. My only complaint is that the manager brought out a boom box and was playing music with it on the patio.
Amazing bar
Amazing food and beer!! The best beer garden in the city!! A hidden gem!!
The goulash was delicious and they had a reasonable selection of German beers on tap. The atmosphere is also a huge selling point...very 1950's vibe, but I'm sure it's inadvertent.
The food was great, but let me tell you about the break up at the table next to us! This girl, from Dayton Ohio, said "I'm from Dayton Ohio!" As if that's some kind of qualifier. Her boyfriend said, "I just don't want you texting YOUR EX-FIANCE!" I think he had a point. That went on for about 20 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the show. I'll be back next Saturday for the next show!
The menu and service were ahead of my expectations. We really liked the vibes of this spot. Fantastic place to take my family out for lunch.
Excellent Place to have German Bier. The Food Section is urtypical German. Reasonable Pricing.
This is a neighborhood German bar. It is small, warm and inviting. The taps are all German and Austrian of deliciously fresh beer. The food is good too. Always busy on thurs, fri, and sat nights so the service and kitchen can get overwhelmed. There are a couple of TVs for sports but not a sports bar. It is a great neighborhood joint.
One of the last of the dying breeds. Wonderfull 'Old Country" German food made by Inga Stober who has had this place for over 50yrs. Inga and Richard (mother and Son) own and operate "The Stube (schtube)" . Inga, 86yrs young, still cooks all the food while Richard runs the front. There are over 150 different imported beers. On tap there are fantastic imports such as: Ayinger Jahrhundert, Bayeriche Brauerei Kaiserslautern, Spaten Oktoberfest, and many more (see pic of the bier list) plus tons of bottles and cans. Great place for dinner or to just come in to hang with friends or co workers, or just to get Schtubed! .........Come and love 'The Stube' and it will love you back!
I've been in the neighborhood for years, just went here this weekend for the first time. Great selection of brew, excellent service, an assortment of sausage and their potato pancakes are superb. I will be back
I inadvertently went to this bar on “German Music” night. It was a guise for white nationalists DJ-ing at the bar. I do not recommend if you are not white nationalist-friendly.
